THANJHAE TEASLEY: "I AM GOING TO TAKE CARE OF BUSINESS!"

TEASLEY FACES SELASSIE BEY IN A MAIN EVENT BATTLE OF UNDEFEATED WELTERWEIGHTS, TOMORROW NIGHT ON DAZN

BOXFEST X Returns Friday, Sept. 6 at 8:30 p.m. EST/7:30 p.m. CST

LIVE ON DAZN

HOUSTON, Texas – September 5, 2024 – Red Owl Boxing will return Friday night with its next installment of the BOXFEST series streaming live on DAZN globally in more than 200 territories and regions from the state-of-the-art "Owl's Nest" in Houston. The action begins around the world at 8:30 p.m. EST/7:30 p.m. CST.

The stacked BOXFEST X event is headlined by a can't-miss battle of undefeated welterweight prospects as Thanjhae Teasley (10-0, 4 KOs) meets Selassie Bey (8-0, 8 KOs) in an eight-round fight.

Teasley, 25, will fight outside of his home state of Pennsylvania for the first time in his professional career as he returns for the second eight-round fight of his young career.

"I am extremely excited to fight in Houston and head out of Pennsylvania for the first time in my pro career," said Teasley. "I have a lot of friends and family coming to Houston. I am so excited about this moment. I signed up for this fight earlier this year so the anticipation has been building for months.

"Everywhere I travel, if you mention the Philly and Pennsylvania boxing scene, there is respect," added the Allentown, Pennsylvania native. "We are top three in the country, for sure, and that would include Jersey too. This whole area is different. We are dogs out here. We are known for having great stamina and composure. We have the ability to listen to our coaches. We stay cool, calm and relaxed."

Teasley started boxing at 19-years-old following a promising football career. Despite starting just six years ago, he credits fighting experienced fighters during his amateur career with his quick rise in the pro ranks.

"There are a lot of boxers who started before me and way younger than I did," noted Teasley. "I have fought a lot of people who have more experience than me as a pro and an amateur. Even then, I still keep winning and I keep learning from them. There were times when I was fighting guys with way more experience but I've learned from those challenges."

In many ways, Teasley credits boxing with putting him on the path toward success.

"Instead of me going down the wrong route, going to jail or ending up dead - I decided to get into the boxing gym," added Teasley. "Boxing put me on a better path and helped me find who I really am. I lost myself for a little bit when I was younger."

In Selassie Bey, the two-year pro will face a knockout artist with a perfect 8-0 record on Friday night in Red Owl Boxing's "Owl's Nest" in Houston. Teasley is eager for Bey to bring that knockout energy.

"If he wants to go for the knockout, then I hope he looks for the knockout," proclaimed Teasley. "We are ready and prepared with a game plan for that. I will do what I have to do in that ring. One thing about Bey is that we have never seen him get a clean knockout, they have all been TKOs so he might have power but we'll see what it's really like on Friday. It's going to be a show."

Teasley is excited to put on a show during his Red Owl Boxing debut and promises to steal the show.

"It is going to be a great night of boxing at the Owl's Nest," said Teasley. "Everyone is going to enjoy this fight. My style often makes the fight of the night. This is my second main event in a row. We are going to put on a show and I am going to take care of business. Don't blink."

In the co-main event, undefeated Ephraim Bui (9-0, 8 KOs) faces Yusniel Abrahante (6-1, 1 KO) in an eight-round bout in the flyweight division.  Also featured on the main card, Red Owl Boxing, in conjunction with Brinx.TV will kick off the inaugural Brinx Cup Tournament - a four-fighter tournament in the junior welterweight division. The six-round bouts pit Elijah Williams (8-1, 3 KOs) against Najeem Johns (5-0, 4 KOs), in addition to undefeated fighters Randy Zazueta Medina (4-0, 2 KOs) against Tayre Jones (11-0, 6 KOs).

Red Owl Boxing owns and operates the state-of-the-art sports performance facility which features seating for more than 1,500 with a modern flare that includes VIP experiences and unique ringside seating.
